Sri B.K Subaiah,
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
Kodagu Vidyalaya

A small group of citizens of Kodagu came together and decide that Kodagu was in a dire of need of a good English medium school.

The group came under the stewardship of late Sri. B.S Kushalappa, who had vast experience in the field of education, administration and organizing. The late then Gen. K.M. Cariappa evinced keen interest by attending the committee meetings. He became our patron in chief. It was he who named the institution as Kodagu Vidyalaya with the blessing - “ Just as might pine trees grow out of tiny acorns, let the school grow .” Thus , this institution has come a long way from make shift class rooms in a garage to a full fledged high school, proud of exemplary results in the 10th standard over a period of a number of years. “Education is for life” is the Motto with which we started the school .

Education should not be confined to the four walls of a class room. A student is taught to develop along these four avenues-physical, intellectual, emotion and spiritual. It is also the philosophy of our school that we provide quality education at affordable cost.

Now we are starting our own website which is going to disseminate the activities of the school to all parts of the world. We pledge to serve the community further as we have done so far.
